A World of Dreams
Let the stars gleam through the faults in an obsidian blanket
And the wind howl through the crevices of a marble keep
Let there be a storm of thunder to tame a scorching summer
And a blazing fire to curb a vicious winter
Let the scent of peppermint waft through a forgotten thicket
And laughter ring through the alleys of a cobblestoned city
Let opulent flowers smother hollow crypts
Or let the moon turn the rippling sea into a belt of opals
Let the light pierce a galaxy of shadows.
Let love cut through a blockade of prejudice.
Let there be a world made of dreams.
Let music resonate in the place of screams
Of bullets and arrows,
And of orphans and widows.
Let there be hope
